- Cosmo Tires: Big Value, Serious Warranty Protection
At B&B Enterprises, we’re always looking for tires that give our customers the right combination of performance, durability and price. That’s one of the reasons we like Cosmo Tires. Cosmo has built its reputation around what it calls “Quality to Value” — offering capable passenger, performance, SUV and light-truck tires without the premium-brand price tag. But price is only part of the story. Cosmo backs its passenger and light-truck tires with a surprisingly strong warranty package. More Than Just a Basic Tire Warranty Cosmo’s current Hassle-Free Warranty Promise combines three important types of protection: ✓ Limited Workmanship & Materials Warranty✓ Mileage/Treadwear Warranty on qualifying models✓ FREE Road Hazard Warranty on qualifying passenger and light-truck tires That road-hazard coverage is particularly noteworthy because it comes from the tire manufacturer rather than requiring the customer to purchase a separate road-hazard plan. FREE Road Hazard Coverage Potholes, road debris and unexpected impacts happen — especially here in the Northeast. Cosmo’s Road Hazard Warranty covers qualifying tires that become unusable because of a puncture, bruise or impact break caused during normal driving on maintained roads. Coverage applies during the first 25% of the tire’s usable tread life or one year from the purchase date, whichever comes first. When an eligible tire becomes unserviceable during that period, Cosmo provides a replacement tire, subject to the warranty terms. Customers remain responsible for items such as mounting, balancing, shipping, taxes and other applicable service fees. That means you're getting some added protection against one of the most frustrating parts of buying new tires: damaging one shortly after you bought it. Important: Cosmo's Road Hazard Warranty does not apply to every tire category. Trailer/ST, commercial truck, van, industrial, farm, lawn/garden and OTR tires are among the exclusions. Mileage Warranties Up to 70,000 Miles Some examples include: Kurrent – 70,000 miles Road Hunter – 60,000 miles El Tigre AT – 55,000 miles El Jefe HT – 55,000 miles Jefe HTL+ – 55,000 miles Gripit XT/XTB – 50,000 miles Mud Kicker/X – 50,000 miles Nova Tour – 50,000 miles Charge – 50,000 miles Real Cat 17 – 45,000 miles Kat Energy – 45,000 miles Rapido – 40,000 miles Tiger Tail – 40,000 miles Mucho Macho – 30,000 miles For the Kurrent mounted on an electric vehicle, Cosmo currently provides a 40,000-mile warranty. Other Cosmo mileage warranties generally do not apply when the tires are installed on EVs. Mileage warranties are prorated rather than an automatic free replacement. If an eligible tire wears down to its treadwear indicators before reaching its warranted mileage, Cosmo may provide a prorated adjustment toward a replacement tire based on the mileage actually received. Cosmo Also Covers Manufacturing Defects All Cosmo passenger and light-truck tire lines are covered against qualifying failures caused by defects in workmanship or materials for the life of the original tread or five years from the date of purchase, whichever comes first. If an eligible tire fails because of a covered defect, Cosmo provides a prorated allowance toward a comparable new Cosmo tire based on the remaining usable tread. There's One Important Step: Register Your Tires Don't skip the warranty registration. For Cosmo’s current mileage and road-hazard programs, tires must be registered within 45 days of purchase. You'll also want to keep your original purchase receipt and maintenance records. For treadwear warranty eligibility, Cosmo currently requires tires to be professionally rotated every 6,000 miles with verifiable service records. DIY rotations do not qualify. If you have a staggered fitment where the front and rear tires cannot be rotated between axles, the stated mileage warranty is reduced by half. Those details matter. A good warranty is only useful when the requirements are followed. Why B&B Enterprises Likes Cosmo Tires There are plenty of inexpensive tires on the market. Cheap and good value aren't necessarily the same thing. Cosmo gives us another option for customers who want to keep their tire purchase affordable without buying an unknown tire with little manufacturer support behind it. Depending on the model, you're getting a combination of substantial mileage coverage, manufacturing-defect protection and manufacturer-backed road-hazard protection. For many everyday drivers, SUVs and pickups, that's a lot of tire for the money. Looking for Cosmo Tires? Contact B&B Enterprises in Springfield, Massachusetts. Tell us your: Year • Make • Model • Tire Size and we'll help you determine which Cosmo tire fits your vehicle, your driving needs and your budget. Whether you're looking for an everyday highway tire, an all-terrain setup or something more aggressive for your truck, don't assume you need to pay premium-brand prices to get a tire backed by a serious warranty. B&B Enterprises Wheels • Tires • New Take-Offs • More Warranty coverage is provided by Cosmo Tires/Tire Group International and is subject to Cosmo's current eligibility requirements, exclusions and complete warranty terms. - Blackhawk RidgeCrawler A/T Tires: All-Terrain Performance for New England Trucks
Blackhawk RidgeCrawler A/T: An All-Terrain Tire Built for New England Driving Want the aggressive look and capability of an all-terrain tire, but still need something you can comfortably drive every day? The Blackhawk RidgeCrawler A/T is designed for pickup trucks and SUVs that spend most of their time on pavement but still need dependable traction when the road—or the weather—gets rough. Whether you're commuting to work, traveling the highway, heading down a gravel road or dealing with a Western Massachusetts winter, the RidgeCrawler A/T offers a nice balance between everyday drivability and all-terrain capability. 3PMSF Certified for Severe Snow Conditions One of the biggest advantages of the Blackhawk RidgeCrawler A/T is its Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certification. That little mountain-and-snowflake symbol on the sidewall means the tire has met an industry-standard test for acceleration traction in severe snow conditions. For drivers here in Massachusetts and throughout New England, that's an important feature in an all-terrain tire. It makes the RidgeCrawler A/T especially appealing for trucks that have to handle a little bit of everything: Highway and everyday driving Rain and changing New England weather Snow-covered roads Gravel and dirt roads Construction and job sites Hunting, camping and recreational use Unpaved driveways and rural roads Aggressive Tread Without the Mud-Terrain Trade-Offs The RidgeCrawler A/T has the rugged appearance truck owners want without jumping all the way to a dedicated mud-terrain tire. Blackhawk uses deep all-terrain tread lugs and staggered shoulder tread blocks to provide traction across different surfaces. The tire is engineered for both on-road and off-road conditions. That makes it a good choice for the customer who wants their truck to look like a truck, but still needs to drive it to work every morning. Designed With Highway Comfort in Mind Aggressive tires sometimes come with an unwanted bonus: road noise. Blackhawk specifically designed the RidgeCrawler A/T's tread using an optimized pitch sequence intended to reduce tread-pattern resonance and create a quieter cabin. That's an important distinction for customers who may love the appearance of an aggressive tire but don't want to listen to it humming on the highway every day. A Great Match for OEM & Take-Off Wheels At B&B Enterprises, we specialize in factory OEM wheels, new take-off wheels and tires, and complete wheel-and-tire packages. The Blackhawk RidgeCrawler A/T gives us another affordable option for putting together an aggressive-looking truck package without automatically jumping into the price range of some of the better-known premium all-terrain brands. Depending on available tire sizes and your vehicle specifications, RidgeCrawler A/T tires may be an option for trucks and SUVs including: Ford F-150 • Ford Super Duty • Chevrolet Silverado • GMC Sierra • Ram 1500/2500/3500 • Jeep Wrangler • Jeep Gladiator • Ford Ranger • Chevrolet Colorado • GMC Canyon and many others. - Why Washing Your Wheels Year-Round Helps Prevent Corrosion, Air Leaks, and TPMS Problems
Keeping your wheels clean is about more than appearance. Regular wheel washing can help reduce corrosion, protect tire-sealing surfaces, and prevent problems that may eventually lead to air-pressure loss or damage around the tire pressure monitoring system. At B&B Enterprises, we regularly see wheels that have been exposed to road salt, brake dust, moisture, dirt, and other corrosive materials. Over time, these contaminants can damage the wheel finish and begin working into areas that are not always easy to see. Road Salt Can Damage Wheels in Every Season Winter road salt is one of the biggest causes of wheel corrosion in New England and other areas where roads are treated for snow and ice. Salt & brine can remain trapped around lug openings, center caps, valve stems, wheel weights, and along the inside barrel of the wheel. Even after winter ends, dried salt and road chemicals may remain on the wheel. Moisture can reactivate these deposits, allowing corrosion to continue during the spring and summer. That is why wheels should be washed throughout the year, not only when they look dirty. Corrosion Can Cause Tire Air Leaks A tire seals against the outer edge of the wheel in an area commonly called the bead seat. When corrosion develops around this sealing surface, the tire may no longer sit evenly against the wheel. This can cause a slow air leak that may require the tire to be refilled every few days or weeks. Common signs of a possible wheel-related air leak include: One tire repeatedly losing pressure A low tire pressure warning that keeps returning Air loss with no visible nail or puncture Leaking around the tire bead Flaking or bubbling finish near the tire edge In some cases, the tire must be removed so the wheel bead area can be inspected and cleaned. Severe corrosion may require wheel repair or replacement. Corrosion Around the Valve Stem and TPMS Sensor Most newer vehicles use tire pressure monitoring system sensors mounted inside the wheel near the valve stem. Moisture, road salt, and corrosion can affect the valve stem, retaining nut, sealing components, and surrounding wheel surface. If corrosion becomes severe, the valve stem may begin leaking or components may break during tire service. TPMS sensors can also be damaged when corrosion causes parts to seize together. A technician may attempt to remove a corroded valve stem or retaining nut and find that the sensor breaks in the process. Replacement TPMS sensors can add an unexpected expense to routine tire service. Keeping the wheel and valve-stem area clean may help reduce corrosive buildup. Wheel Corrosion Can Become a Safety Concern Low tire pressure affects more than fuel mileage. An underinflated tire can generate excess heat, wear unevenly, and reduce vehicle handling. Severe pressure loss may also damage the tire sidewall or cause the tire to become unsafe for continued use. Corrosion can also affect other parts of the wheel, including: Lug nut seating areas Center bore surfaces Wheel mounting surfaces Valve stem openings Tire bead sealing areas Wheel weight attachment points Any wheel with heavy flaking, deep pitting, cracking, structural damage, or repeated air leaks should be inspected by a qualified tire or wheel professional. How Often Should You Wash Your Wheels? During winter, wheels should be rinsed regularly, especially after driving on heavily salted roads. A practical schedule is: Rinse wheels after major snow or ice events Wash them whenever the vehicle is washed Clean the inner wheel barrel when possible Perform a thorough cleaning at the end of winter Continue regular washing throughout spring, summer, and fall Vehicles that are parked outside, driven near the coast, used on dirt roads, or exposed to commercial and industrial conditions may need more frequent cleaning. The Best Way to Clean Your Wheels Start with cool wheels. Spraying cleaner onto hot wheels may cause staining or damage certain finishes. Use water, mild automotive soap, and a soft wheel brush or microfiber wash mitt. Pay special attention to areas where salt and dirt collect. Clean around: Lug nuts Valve stems Center caps Spokes Wheel openings The inside barrel The outer tire bead area Avoid harsh chemicals unless the product specifically states that it is safe for your wheel finish. Painted, polished, machined, chrome-plated, and clear-coated wheels may require different cleaning products. After washing, rinse the wheels thoroughly and allow them to dry. Do Not Ignore Repeated Low-Pressure Warnings A tire that repeatedly loses air should be inspected. Adding air may temporarily turn off the dashboard warning, but it does not correct the cause of the leak. Possible causes include: A nail or puncture A leaking valve core A damaged valve stem TPMS seal failure Corrosion around the tire bead A bent or cracked wheel Damage to the tire itself Finding the source early may prevent additional damage to the wheel, tire, or TPMS sensor. Protect Your Wheels Before Corrosion Gets Worse Routine washing is one of the simplest steps vehicle owners can take to protect their wheels. Keeping wheels clean helps remove road salt, brake dust, dirt, and moisture before these materials create larger problems. It may also help reduce the chance of bead leaks, valve-stem corrosion, TPMS damage, and premature finish deterioration. B&B Enterprises specializes in genuine OEM factory wheels, tires, and take-off wheel and tire packages. We serve customers throughout Massachusetts, New England, New York, Pennsylvania, and beyond. Contact us with questions about OEM replacement wheels, factory take-offs, tire and wheel fitment, or replacing a damaged or corroded wheel. Frequently Asked Questions Can a corroded wheel cause a tire to lose air? Yes. Corrosion around the tire bead seat can prevent the tire from sealing properly against the wheel, causing a slow air leak. Can road salt damage aluminum wheels? Yes. Road salt and moisture can damage clear-coated, painted, machined, polished, and unfinished aluminum surfaces, especially when the finish is already chipped or scratched. Can corrosion damage a TPMS sensor? Corrosion can affect the valve stem, retaining hardware, seals, and the area where the sensor is mounted. Corroded parts may leak or break during removal. Why does my tire pressure light keep coming back on? The tire may have a puncture, valve leak, bead leak, wheel damage, or a TPMS-related problem. The tire and wheel should be inspected rather than repeatedly refilled. Should wheels be washed during the winter? Yes. Regular winter rinsing helps remove salt and road chemicals before they remain on the wheel for an extended period.
